Youth is the time of life when one is young, but often means the time between childhood and adulthood (maturity). It is also defined as “the appearance, freshness, vigor, spirit, etc., characteristic of one who is young”. Its definitions of a specific age range varies, as youth is not defined chronologically as a stage that can be tied to specific age ranges; nor can its end point be linked to specific activities, such as taking unpaid work or having sexual relations without consent.
Youth is an experience that may shape an individual’s level of dependency, which can be marked in various ways according to different cultural perspectives. Personal experience is marked by an individual’s cultural norms or traditions, while a youth’s level of dependency means the extent to which they still rely on their family emotionally and economically. Youth can be referred to as the time of life when one is young. This involves childhood, and the time of life which is neither childhood nor adulthood, but rather somewhere in
between. Youth also identifies a particular mindset of attitude, as in “He is very youthful”.
You have come across with an opportunity of a lifetime and you have to make a decision. However, this decision is not easy and involves you to change your life completely or get out of your comfort zone or start everything from scratch. Therefore, part of you wants to go for it badly but your other part is holding you back. In this case, what should you do?
1. Stay off negative minds
Don’t let your family, friends, coworkers or others erode your confidence by saying that you are not good enough. If they are not going to give you constructive feedback, then, don’t share your ideas or plans with them. If a voice inside your head is talking to you saying you cannot do it, then, this means you are finding excuses to yourself for not starting up. Stop finding excuses! Don’t forget that starting something is half of finishing it. If you don’t start now, you will always regret it later. Also, even if you fail, you can always look back and say that at least you’ve tried it.
2. Criticism must come, ignore them
Usually, it is all about them and not you! People are trying to hold you back because they are afraid that you will achieve something greater than them. You will get out of the usual and ordinary that everyone is accustomed to doing. You will start something different. Therefore, don’t let others drag you down. I am sure if they have been given the chance, they would do the same and change their lives completely. They are just not that strong as you are and cannot find that courage within themselves.
3. Be strong, don’t be afraid of failure
Yeah, everything is not going to be perfect once you start your new life. There will be ups and downs. However, you cannot hold yourself back fearing that things will not go the way they are planned. Living this way will make you miss amazing opportunities. Show a little more courage and take the first step to start your new life.
4. The perfect time is the best experience
There is no such thing as “perfect time.” Now is the perfect time. Otherwise, your excitement will decrease over time and it will be too late. Also, you will never be 100% ready. Just start and you will improve over time. You can always complete the things that are missing along the way.
Are you too busy that you don’t have time to take good care of yourself?
You can work comfortably even at your workplace. I am too busy, same you are. Even a day old child is too busy. There is no doubt about that. Thanks to internet and smart phones, everybody is available all the time.
However, did you ever notice that the people who constantly mention that they are very busy are in fact the least effective ones? Being very busy is not an indicator of being effective or successful. Some people like to tell everyone around themselves how busy they are so that nobody asks them to take on another task. Also, some people like to seem very busy because only then they can feel important. If you also feel very busy or tell around that you are too busy, you probably cannot manage your time properly.
Below are some helpful tips for being more effective and less busy.
1.Make the right choice of work to do
If you have more on your plate than you can actually complete, don’t say yes to another task just to please your boss. This will decrease your effectiveness and success rate because you have to divide your energy between different projects instead of putting all into one and finishing it off successfully.
2.Build your family relationships
Know the value of your loved ones, always create time to spend quality time with them. Not everything is about working. You should recharge yourself and refresh your mind from time to time and spending time with friends and family is perfect for that. Thus, do something other than working and call your loved ones.
3. Always outline your priority in every task
Prioritize your tasks and stop wasting time with unnecessary tasks. For example; don’t constantly check your emails or social media accounts. Don’t feel that you are immediately obligated to respond. Finish what you are working on first and then, start responding to emails or returning to calls. You cannot do everything at once.
4. Avoid distractions from people
Focus all of your attention on the task that you are working on and do not let your coworkers or anything else distract you until you finish that task or until your break time. If you give all your energy only into the task that you are working on, you will see that it will take you less time to complete.
5. Don’t work too much, take breaks when necessary
If you didn’t get enough sleep and still feel tired from the previous day, then, you won’t be able to work as efficiently as you want. Therefore, try to sleep early and get at least seven to eight hours of sleep every night. Also, set yourself breaks during the day to refresh your mind and stay away from your desk. This will help you stay more driven and in the end, you will finish your tasks faster.
