Blind Spots
Ego creates blind spots.
Most bloggers make common mistakes which is why most bloggers struggle.
But their ego likes creating blind spots, forcing bloggers to dodge viewing themselves and their blogs in the light of truth.
Example
I read a comment from an inspired blogger on Blogging From Paradise, said blogger nodding along with my loving, high energy, prospering advice. 2 minutes later I click through to their blog and see a different picture from their viewpoint shared on my blog.
Let’s say I wrote about using a clear, clean, minimalist design on Blogging From Paradise because I made the dingbat mistake of overloading my blog with ads, widgets, and stuff, fearing I would not make money unless I stuffed my blog with opportunities. Currently, I post 3 sidebar elements. Plus white space, save post and page content.
My blogging buddy agrees how going minimalist prospers us and even notes leaning down their blog. But after a quick visit, I see 8 ads, 20 sidebar elements, multiple pop-ups, sliders and a site reeking so heavily of desperation that money and success cannot possibly agree with the site.
Said blogger deludes themselves, making the typical mistake of jamming more into their blog to make more money when less would bring greater clarity and greater profits.
Easily, the blogger could have read my post, learned from my mistake, trashed 95% of their ads and stuff to create a sleek, minimalist design, to boost profits, but a shocking majority of bloggers decide not to make this clear, prospering decision because their fears seem to delude them from accepting the truth of their blog.
The Solution
Follow 1-2 top pros in the blogging tips niche.
Focus on heart-centered, generous, dynamic bloggers.
Follow their blogs. Buy their eBooks, Buy their courses.
Study their content and premium offerings. Take notes.
Learn from their mistakes. Most top bloggers share wins and losses freely.
Matthew Loomis of Build Your Own Blog is a shining example of a rocking blogger to follow.
After learning from their blogging boo boo’s, observe your blog truthfully to see if you’re making the same error.
Do not trust your fears. Be honest. The truth sets you free, but as the saying goes, it may piss you off, at first.
Being honest with yourself after learning prospering lessons from pro bloggers is the quickest way to build a successful foundation for your blog.
