4 Tips to Write Valuable Blog Posts

What makes for a valuable blog post?

This question often dances around in the heads of most bloggers. I always try to think of what my readers want. Readers determine value through their perception…..but….bloggers meet readers halfway by developing their blogging skills. Solve problems. But also, practice your writing, too.

Let’s toss in 2 more tips to round out what constitutes a valuable blog post.

1: Solve Pressing Reader Problems

Every valuable blog post solves some pressing reader problem. Readers perceive value in how the content benefits them in some way, shape or form. Imagine if you have no idea if your blog posts are valuable or not. New bloggers often have no clue how to write a beneficial, traffic-driving, blog post.

I come along, write and publish this guest post and you stumble upon this read. Voila! Bingo! Your pressing blogging problem – wondering how to write a valuable blog post – just got solved. Instantly, you deem this post valuable.

But I only wrote the post because I carefully observe bloggers and their problems. I scan comments. I observe threads in Facebook Groups related to blogging. I also recall my emails because bloggers sometimes message me their problems through that channel.

Spot problems, solve with your blog posts and publish genuine value.

2: Add Your Personal Flavor

Add your personal flavor to blog posts. Let value seep through all you do. Be genuine. Blog from an authentic, one of a kind, energy. Writing in your unique voice allows you to stand out from the blogging crowd. Blogging becomes much easier – albeit a bit uncomfortable – if you write how YOU write versus trying to parrot other bloggers.

Nobody wants to follow a blogger who tries to mimic successful bloggers. No value there. Readers will simply follow the successful blogger and ignore the faker. But bloggers who blog in their unique, genuine voice stand out in a wonderful way. Readers love authentic bloggers. Blog how you blog. Get comfortable in your own blogging skin.

3: Set Up an Outline

Set up a blog post outline. Allow order to enter your mind. Orderly-thinking bloggers write and publish valuable blog posts. Outlining your blog posts allows ideas to flow into your mind seamlessly, creating a more pleasant, balanced, focused reader experience.

I listed these 4 tips for this post before writing a word. I easily flesh out each tip one section at a time because my outline let me follow that simple, orderly writing path.

4: Write, Write and Write Some More

Hands down, practicing your writing is the best way to write valuable blog posts. Hone some skill. Become more skilled. Become better at the discipline. Writing often gives you writing clarity, confidence and focus. Confident writers publish valuable blog posts.

Writing is the #1 skill to develop as a writer. So…..write! Write 500-1000 words daily offline in a Word document. Or write 500 plus words daily online as blog posts and guest posts. Keep writing to become a skilled blogger. Develop this skill to deliver value every time you write and publish a blog post.

Do not become a blogging robot, guys. Bloggers who publish value honor the fluid nature of human emotions. Note my style; sometimes I use headers, other times, I do not use headers. I go off of feel to publish valued content based on my emotions at the moment.

Let your intuition guide you. The inner guide always knows the way. Toss in these 4 tips to publish valued blog posts on the regular.
