Welcome to a little thing called 750 Words.

Some people ask the question: what do 750 words look like?

Before we delve into that, here’s my little advice for you;

“Don’t try to write a lot every day. Make it a daily writing exercise to write often.”

Phew!

Spending eight hours during the weekend writing isn’t nearly as valuable as spending one hour a day every day of the week. This is true when you’re just getting started.

Have you read the miracle of morning pages pdf?

Some people run away from writing, instead embracing the fact that it is a way through which they can easily express themselves.

If you want to get this writing thing down, you need to stop asking silly questions and start writing every day.

No shortcut. No excuses. Consistency help build credibility.

Today, I’m introducing you to a platform known as 750Words.com – it’s a platform that helps you build an exceptional writing habit.

How? It helps you do the writing, every day.

I’m talking about being disciplined and making writing a real habit in the long run.

How Many Paragraphs Is 750 Pages?

This not about asking how many pages is 750 words double spaced?

It should come as no surprise that habits practiced once a week aren’t habits at all. Yes, they are not.

Err, they are obligations. Or funnily put little hobbies.

Hey, let’s not kid ourselves here. If you’re doing something once a week, it’s probably only a matter of time before you stop doing it altogether.

Yes or No?

I’m glad you can relate.

The only thing you need to know about writing is that you must do it, and leave the rest to show up. You’ve got to show up and horn your skills.

Have you Heard of Morning Pages?

Morning pages are three pages of writing done every day, typically encouraged to be in “long hand”, typically done in the morning, which can be about anything and everything that comes into your head.

There must not be a specific topic to write about. Write it the way it comes to your head, anyhow. Let the thoughts flow. Hold nothing back.

Give out all you can at that moment and leave nothing back. You’ve got to strengthen your mind to think and write more.

You can do this. I believe you can.

How Do I Join the Daily Writing Exercise?

The daily writing exercise is about getting it all out of your head, and it is not supposed to be edited or censored in any way.

Why 750words.com site? The idea is that if you can get in the habit of writing three pages daily, it will help clear your mind and get the ideas flowing for the rest of the day.

Joining the write everyday writing challenge is a great way to think out loud without having to worry about half-formed ideas, random tangents, private stuff, and all the other things in our heads that we often filter out before ever voicing them or writing about them.

You can call it daily brain dump. It’s helpful a tool to keep your thoughts going so you never become stuck.

Heck, it helps you get to the bottom of a rotten mood.

What’re 750 Words All About?

750 Words is the online, future-ified, fun-ified platform that helps you learn about yourself in the process of building a profitable writing career.

In the past, looking for a spare notebook was probably easier than looking for a computer.

With 750words.com you’ve got no issue at all.

750 words are nothing to sneeze at. It’s an easy way to know how many words you have to go.

The site tracks your word count at all times and lets you know when you’ve passed 750 words.

Interestingly, it gives you a nice big screen to write on, which automatically saves your writing as you go, and scrolls as you write.

5 Benefits Of Using 750 Words For Your Writing Exercise

  1. It helps you learn about how often you get distracted, and how fast you write.
  2. It helps you get beautiful stats that analyze the feelings, themes, and mindset of your words.
  3. It helps you improve the quality of your life in many ways.
  4. It helps you master your writing and getting the words out of your brain
  5. The rest are just tricks to help get us there.

Blogging or Status Updating?

750 Words is not about blogging or status updating. It is about building your writing capacity and credibility.

It’s a fun platform to build your writing skills.

Every month you get a clean slate. If you write anything at all, you get 1 point. If you write 750 words or more, you get 2 points. If you write two, three or more days in a row, you get even more points.

It’s fun to try to stay on streaks and the points are a way to play around with that. You can also see how others are doing points-wise if you’re at all competitive that way.

Points can motivate early on, and eventually, the joy of writing will kick in and you’ll be writing without any external motivation at all.

3 Pages to 750 Words

250 words per page are considered to be the standard accepted number of words per page. So, three standard pages are about 750 words. Of course, if 750words.com hadn’t been available, it may have been difficult to prove that 249 words per page were the accepted standard.

However, it comes down to the fact that this amount of writing feels about right. You can’t just fart out three pages without running into your subconscious a little bit.

Why did I say so? 750 words take a bit of effort, and it never fails to get me typing things that I have wanted to articulate without realizing it.

That’s the point. You have to go ahead and do the work.

What’s the Cost of Joining 750words.com?

For the first 3 years of this site’s existence, 750 Words was free for everyone. For people who joined the site after June 2013, the site costs $5 after a free 30-day trial.

However, as it has grown, the cost of maintaining the servers and responding to support requests has grown. So, they decided to charge a small monthly subscription ($5) after a 30-day free trial.

Is My Writing Secure With 750 Words?

If you are not the only one using your computer and want to make sure you aren’t accidentally still logged in to 750words.com when you leave the computer, you can add an additional “lock” to your words.

All you need is to locate lock in Settings → Edit password to make sure your words aren’t tampered with.

What does the lock feature stand for? The lock feature when activated will require that you enter the secret word or phrase whenever you log in to the site or leave it unattended for 10 or more minutes.

Go ahead and set your lock from the Settings & Stats page.

They never would want to sell ad space on their site because they are very concerned about your privacy. 750words would never allow the data mining of the words you write or give anyone else access to your writing.

Start Now.. Right Now!

Of course, blogging here forces me to write nearly every day, but I’m learning that isn’t enough.

It’s time to stop treating it as a hobby and turn it into a habit. All I need you to do is to get started now and don’t wait until tomorrow.

Spend 30 minutes today taking it one step further in the development process. Even if it sucks, you need to get those juices flowing.

Your Turn

How have you been growing your writing? Is there something you’ve been putting off?
