How Does Your Blog Become a Traffic Magnet?
Be helpful.
The more people you help from a targeted mindset the more traffic flows to your blog.
Logically, this makes perfect sense. Emotionally, this challenges ego because fear tries to scare you into ceasing to help people for selfish reasons. For example, I seem to have a fairly busy day today. My wife and I are prepping a home before traveling to a new location. One part of me wants to do a few things for myself because we are on a tight schedule. But versus doing things for me I chose to write and publish this guest post to be truly helpful to you.
Shifting from being focused on self to helping others feels highly uncomfortable from a sustained approach. Anyone can write and publish 1 blog post or guest post. Few write and publish 1000 blog posts and 1000 guest posts solely because the fear scaring one into caring mostly for self feels stronger than the love goading you to care for others. Anyone can be highly helpful to drive steady blog traffic but few do because of fear.
Fear creates many mental blocks regarding writer’s block. Bloggers profess to not being able to write a high volume of blog posts and guest posts for fear of slamming into the idea that blog post ideas are limited, fleeting and simply scarce. None of these ideas are true because fear is an illusion. Only love is real. Making this slow, steady discovery feels highly uncomfortable but freeing. Feeling free to create oodles of helpful content makes your blog a traffic magnet because all of the content you created funnels people back to your blog.
Guest posts I publish here drive people to Blogging From Paradise. Readers may enjoy the guest post, click my blog link in the author’s bio then visit my blog. Guest posts on World Writer’s Hub make my blog a magnet to traffic. But being truly helpful across a wide range of channels online ramps up the magnetic effect. Guest posts I placed on Blogging Explained drive traffic to Mudassir’s blog and to my blog, enhancing the magnetic pull. Ditto for guest posts you place anywhere, in addition of course to posts you write and publish to your blog.
Do not stop there; record and upload videos to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Be genuinely helpful across these channels to draw traffic to your blog. Podcast. Read blog posts and publish genuine comments on top blogs related to your niche. Be helpful to drive blog traffic. Logically, perhaps you find yourself nodding at this concept. Emotionally, begin searching your feelings to better understand why traffic seems scarce on your blog. Bloggers project all types of fears like:
- I do not have time to create content
- I do not have any blog post ideas
- I do not have any blogging connections to place guest posts
- I do not want to comment on blogs because blog commenting is a waste of time
- I cannot share other blogger’s posts because they will steal my blog traffic
Each of the prior bullet points is a fear fueling some limiting belief. Surrendering to fear surrenders to an illusion. Fear is not real, true or there. But if you give in to fear you become unhelpful or not as helpful. Since being helpful drives blog traffic, being unhelpful does not drive blog traffic. I have proven each bullet point list item fear above to be untrue through a high volume of content created to clearly solve each of these problems. Face fear, feel fear and release fear to be helpful and to magnetize your blog to traffic.
